Arno Haas on JodyJazz HR* Tenor and Alto Sax Mouthpiece
"Many years i played the same mouthpieces and i didn't thought that i will change at anytime - till i tried Jody's hardrubber tenor mouthpiece at his booth in frankfurt! In ‘07 i toured with Jason Marshall and played his hardrubber alto mouthpiece - the same effect again! What can i say? it's just "more" - more sound, more equal, more power, more flexibility ...- whatever music i have to play it’s possibile, i mean "more" than possibile! "
Arno Hass Biography
Tenor-Alto-&Sopran-Saxophonist born and raised in the Black Forest (Germany). School, musical society, first steps in various bands. At the end of the 80s professional saxophone player for 1 year in the air force band Karlsruhe. This experience was one reason for my decision to become a professional musician. From 1989 to 1994 studies at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern (Switzerland) with Andy Scherrer a good basis to go further. In 1992, when I met the American Blues-Singer Sidney “Guitar Crusher” Selby, I got the first opportunity to go on tour with a professional band. This project taught me to play and live the Blues. I toured with him and several Blues bands from Freiburg, Dortmund, Berlin and Tübingen. We gave concerts on numberless stages all over Europe with international stars such as Ricky Lawson, Calvin Owens, Alvin Lee etc. and also made recordings. After having passed the diploma examination at Bern I had my first contact to the musician Jürgen Waidele from Constance. I entered the band Waidele’s Conversation, a south-german cult band with funky songs composed by the ingenious band leader. In addition I started to play with dance and party bands. Although I never intended to make this kind of music I realized that I could enlarge my muscial horizon which at least was as important as my study. I had to meet the requirements to play solo parts in many different music styles and to prove a stylistic flexibility while maintaining my individual style with the equal use of soprano, alto and tenor sax. Since September 06 i’m part of a very successful german saturday night tv show, there we accompany live with a 10 piece band national and international acts. Another musical field is my cooperation with Cameroonian singer and composer Henri Dikongué.

I have recorded, worked or played with: Ack Van Rooyen, Bob Malach, Peter Herbolzheimer, Joo Kraus, Alvin Lee, Guitar Crusher, Mick Taylor, Bert Joris, Wolfgang Haffner, James Moody, Franko Ambrosetti, Joe Lovano, Juergen Waidele, Dizzy Krisch, Ivo Antognini, Chris Farlowe, Steve Baker, Tom Novy, Samstagabendshow-TV-Orchester, Nubya, Göla, Sandra Studer, Maya Brunner, Polo Hofer, Lokua Kanza, So Kalmery, Henri Dikongué, Thomas Stabenow, Jason Wright, Florian Silbereisen, Patrick Lindner, Helene Fischer, DJ-Ötzi, Nino DeAngelo, ...
