Ippolito Lamedica on the DV NY Baritone 9

DV NY Baritone 9
★★★★★

The best mouthpiece ever!

"I've played for the last 15 years on a JodyJazz ESP Baritone (130) and it is powerful and dark. It is one of the best mouthpiece (I have a lot) I ever played. Yesterday I tried the JodyJazz DV NY Baritone (9) and it is easier, very free blowing, warm sound, very definite and precise. I loved it soon and I bought it. Now it is mine. The sound of DV NY is less darker and a little bit less powerful than ESP, but with DV NY you can play with harder reeds. Control is even easier; you can do everything you want. In the shop I compared it with Theo Wanne Durga and ... there is no comparison. Whereas the Durga, while perfect in all registers, has no personality, the DV NY has its own soul and it is wonderful. I think it is the best mouthpiece I ever played with (and I have a vintage Otto Link Florida (metal), a vintage Otto Link Early Babbit (rubber), a very rare Brillart "Personaline" Ebolin ('50s) and so on...). JodyJazz ESP perhaps it still has a more mellow sound, darker, and offers more resistance to those who blow; DV NY, on the other hand, it is much easier and more precise, with a sound that seems "sculpted" with the precision of Michelangelo ... This is a real jewel, a great art work from the skilled hands of Jody Espina. Thanks Jody for this masterpiece!"
