Dirk Jan Demkes on the DV Bass 7

My JodyJazz Bari Sax DV mouthpiece, which I've owned for over 4 years, blows like a hurricane—easy and in tune. Two years ago, I found the right (fiber)reed. With the onyx, it's a pleasure to play my bari every day.

Last month, I bought a new bass saxophone, and I was excited to use my bari sax mouthpiece. Unfortunately, it wasn't a big success; it's not in tune, and middle D and D# come out ugly (this is a known and common bass sax problem).

So, last week, I bought the DV bass, and surprise... surprise—it blows like a hurricane too. It has a nice dark sound, and it plays in tune up to high D. Also, middle D and D# come out nice 95% of the time (still on a learning curve).

Best of all, I can still use my bari fiberreed. Nice job, Jody!
