"The HR* CUSTOM DARK Tenor is fantastic. The sound is resonant, the feel is free-blowing, and the tonal quality is consistent across the registers. You can also open up and project the sound should you desire. It's an improvement over my HR*. I'll always hold onto it, but after 15 years on that mouthpiece, I think it's retired. You don't need to have a pro sax to sound like a pro, but you do need good technique and a great mouthpiece. If you're short on cash and wondering what might be the best way to upgrade your sound, I'd go with a mouthpiece first. Mere mortals shouldn't sound this good. Thanks again.
