Desidério Lázaro Biography

Desidério Lázaro (1982) is one of the finest jazz saxophonists in Portugal. Desidério started with the clarinet at the age of 10 and studied classical music before moving to jazz education and the tenor saxophone. After studying jazz in Lisbon he moved to Amsterdam where he graduated in 2008. Soon after, Desidério returned to Lisbon, where he's been playing and recording with the best jazz and pop musicians in Portugal, as well as being an active frontman with 7 recorded albums, having received multiple nominations for "Album of the year".

Desidério Lázaro is also a teacher in two universities: Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa.
