“Having grown up playing JodyJazz mouthpieces, I consider my DV Alto 7 an integral part of my sound and brand. I can’t imagine ever switching to another mouthpiece, they just can’t compete!”

Cristian Romero

“My SUPER JET mouthpiece is killing! I’m really in love with it. I had never played a mouthpiece like this one, it is very easy to play all over the register. Finally, I’ve found my sound: The SUPER JET.”

Versatility, power, easy response and tuning are just some of the features that make me feel unconditionally love these mouthpieces. Versatilidad , potencia,fácil respuesta y afinación son sólo algunas de las características que hacen que ame incondicionalmente estas boquillas. “I’ve been using JodyJazz tenor mouthpieces since the early days, including the ESP and different versions of the DV’s. Each mouthpiece has its own unique playing character across the horn’s range. After experimenting, I’ve found that the original #7 DV is my go-to for situations where I want a room-filling sound without relying on a PA system, maintaining a smooth, dark tone. When I need to play more quietly with an even darker tone, I turn to Jody’s HR* Tenor with an 8* facing. It delivers a lush sound with depth and warmth while still allowing me to project without feeling stifled. Jody offers a variety of mouthpieces to cater to every player’s needs, and I always recommend them to fellow musicians, including professionals, teachers, and students.”

“After trying JodyJazz for fifteen seconds, I knew I had to buy JodyJazz mouthpieces for all of my horns. There are the fabulous JodyJazz mouthpieces, and then there are all the rest. None can compare to JodyJazz. JodyJazz mouthpieces are simply the greatest mouthpieces in the universe! I am proud to play JodyJazz, the mouthpieces played by the greatest saxophonists in the world.”

“The tone through each one of my saxophones starts by entering one of Jody’s fabulous mouthpieces. With a variety of styles, and materials, I’m confident that there is a mouthpiece in his catalogue to be paired with any saxophonist’s horn. All of my JodyJazz mouthpieces are free blowing, and beautifully hand crafted. My main sax is the tenor. From the first time playing it, I loved the DV Tenor 7*. My sound was warmer, but could project louder AND speak softer. Articulations were easier to pronounce, and my altissimo notes grew in range and beauty. Curious, I tried the DV CHI Tenor 7*, and loved it as well. I play on this as my main piece, and it pairs nicely with my silver Selmer horn. In 2014, I played tenor and baritone sax with Canadian singing icon Gino Vannelli. This was the first time that I played the bari sax, and it wasn’t easy until I picked up a DV Baritone 8 mouthpiece. The DV made it easy to blow a beautiful tone through the sax, while I only needed to focus on the music. One of the trickier saxes; the soprano, needs a lot of focus and dedication to hone a personalized tone, with good intonation. When I switched from a reputable manufacturer, to the DV Soprano 7*, I was able to work on my sound, instead of fighting with the technical difficulties the soprano sax. This mouthpiece darkened the tones and made the instrument less ‘nasal’, and super fun to play. I seldom play the alto, but when I do, I can ease into it with a DV Alto 7 mouthpiece. Switching between the different JodyJazz mouthpieces is easy and comfortable. Thank you Mr. Espina, and your fantastic staff for your contributions to the saxophone community!”

Neil Broughton

“It is easily the best sax mouthpiece I’ve ever played and I really enjoyed being able to take a reed right out of the box, and have the ability to play very loud or very softly without any trouble at all. From low to high, everything comes out clean and crisp. I’d like to say that after playing the DV, it is easy to see that the quality just towers over all other current sax mouthpieces, and more than a few of the vintage one’s I’ve played.”
